You can defeat the giant of your life (Part 6)
Verse of the day: 1 Samuel 17: 45 "Then David said to the Philistine: You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied"
David’s message to the Philistines was very clear because he wanted Goliath to understand that he came against him with a sword, with a spear and with a javelin while David was leaning on the Lord his God. Walking against Goliath in the name of the Lord of hosts simply means walking relying on God.
When we face a problem and more particularly a material or financial problem, we make the mistake of building our faith on our knowledge, our degrees, our family members or our friends ... who are the image of the sword, the spear and the javelin.
The best strategy is to build our faith on the Word of God and face the giants in the name of Jesus. Sometimes it is shocking to see how one can be in Church for years listening to the Word of God but without coming to understand the importance of the name of Jesus.
Let me talk a little about the name of Jesus: While trying to describe the name of Jesus, Paul wrote to the Philippians, saying: " Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth"(Phil 2: 9-10). The passage says that God raised Jesus' name above every name. Here I have to remind you that every problem has a name. The name can be cancer, rent payments, unemployment, bareness... but the important thing is that the name is below the name of Jesus. We often find ourselves below the problems while in the name of Jesus we are supposed to be above.
The same verse goes further by reminding us that every knee shall bow before the name of Jesus. Those who kneel before Jesus' name are the angels of heaven, men (on earth) and even demons (under the earth). When we face the devil, we must recall that he must kneel before the name of Jesus in accordance with the scriptures, and if Jesus is in us, the devil is supposed to kneel when we confess that powerful name.
I would like to share a very important verse in my Christian life because it helped me to penetrate where I could never enter. The verse says: " Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you "(Luke 10: 19). Let us pray so that we should be aware of this authority and especially for the real revelation of "nothing shall by any means hurt us"

Tu peux vaincre le géant de ta vie (6e Partie)
Verset du jour: 1 Samuel 17 :45 « David dit au Philistin: Tu marches contre moi avec l'épée, la lance et le javelot; et moi, je marche contre toi au nom de l'Éternel des armées, du Dieu de l'armée d'Israël, que tu as insultée »
Le message de David au Philistin était très clair car il voulait faire comprendre à Goliath qu’il marchait contre lui en s’appuyant sur l’épée, la lance et le javelot tandis que David s’appuyait sur l’Eternel son Dieu. Marcher contre Goliath au nom de l’Eternel des armées veut tout simplement dire marcher en s’appuyant sur Dieu.
Quand nous sommes face à un problème et plus particulièrement à un problème matériel ou financier, il nous arrive de commettre l’erreur de bâtir notre foi sur nos connaissances, nos diplômes, nos membres de famille ou nos amis…qui sont l’image de l’épée, de la lance et du javelot.
La meilleure stratégie consiste donc à bâtir notre foi sur la parole de Dieu et faire face aux géants au nom de Jésus. Il est parfois choquant de remarquer combien on peut être dans l’église pendant des années en écoutant la Parole de Dieu mais sans arriver à bien comprendre l’importance du nom de Jésus.
Permettez-moi de parler un peu du nom de Jésus : Tout en essayant de décrire le nom de Jésus, Paul a écrit aux Philippiens en disant : « C'est pourquoi aussi Dieu l'a souverainement élevé, et lui a donné le nom qui est au-dessus de tout nom, afin qu'au nom de Jésus tout genou fléchisse dans les cieux, sur la terre et sous la terre » (Phil 2 :9-10). Le passage dit que Dieu a élevé le nom de Jésus au-dessus de tout nom. Ici je dois te rappeler que tout problème a un nom. Ce nom peut être le cancer, le paiement du loyer, le chômage, la stérilité…mais l’important est que ce nom est en dessous du nom de Jésus. Souvent nous nous retrouvons en dessous des problèmes alors qu’au nom de Jésus nous sommes supposés être au-dessus.
Le même verset va plus loin en nous rappelant que tout genou fléchira devant le nom de Jésus. Ceux qui s’agenouilleront devant le nom de Jésus sont les anges du ciel, les hommes (sur la terre) et même les démons (sous la terre). Quand on est face au diable, on doit le rappeler qu’il doit s’agenouiller devant le nom de Jésus conformément aux écritures et si Jésus est en nous, le diable est supposé s’agenouiller quand nous confessons ce nom si puissant.
J’aimerais vous partager un verset très important dans ma vie chrétienne car je m’en suis souvent servi pour pénétrer là où je ne pourrais jamais entrer. Le verset dit : « Voici, je vous ai donné le pouvoir de marcher sur les serpents et les scorpions, et sur toute la puissance de l'ennemi; et rien ne pourra vous nuire » (Luc 10 :19). Prions pour que nous soyons conscients de ce pouvoir et surtout pour avoir la vraie révélation de : « rien ne pourra nous nuire »
